Our beloved buddhist Giac Kim Cang Nguyen Tri Minh, a descendant generation 13th of the Vietnamese Royal King Ly Thai To, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the golden age of 93 in February 10th, 2022 in California. He was a patriot who went to the army to protect his country many years, then accomplished his Bachelor degree in teaching and became a professor at Petrus Ky High School in Saigon, Vietnam.
Minh came to California, USA in 1984 and continued to organize annually the reunion of all Ly descendants to give them opportunity to socialize in memory of the great well known vietnamese ancestors Ly Dynasty.
Minh was a very devoted buddhist who believed that:
Even though he had a very happy & successful life with his family, his wisdom told him that the world and living beings are impermanent, like water bubbles;
the human life is one of suffering, and that only Dharma, meditation, spiritual, practicing Buddha prayers diligently, and good behaviors are the ways to be reborn in Dewachen. He took refuge and received all important Buddha initiations and empowerments with the Honorable Lama Dawa like Amitabha Buddha, Chenrezig, Phowa, Five Buddha Families ...
Minh was very lucky that at the end of his life, Lama Dawa prayed Bardo Thodol, and Phowa for him. Lama Dawa will continue praying 100 days for Minh to support his wish to be reborn in Dewachen, the Pureland of Amitabha Buddha.
