THE NAMGYALMA MANTRA
An explanation of the infinite benefits of reciting the Namgyalma Mantra From https://sites.google.com/site/ombekanze/mantra/namgyalma//// Om Dhrum Svaha Om Amrita Ayur Dade Svaha ~ Goddess Namgyalma aids in purification and long life. Her mantra is said to be so powerful that anyone who hears it will never again be born from the womb (unless it is by personal choice). Therefore, if animals hear it, they will never again be reborn in the lower realms of existence. The Namgyalma mantra has thus gained popularity in Buddhist practice. There is a story from the time of the great Guru Shakyamuni Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama)… There was a Deva called Paripa Denpa. Due the karma, when devas begin to experience the signs of death, they spontaneously remember their previous lives and see their future lives. Devas are generally known in Buddhist tradition to be non-human beings with supernatural powers. Though invisible to the human eye, devas are visible to humans who have developed their extra sensory perceptions like clairvoyance (ability to see as a psychic), and clairaudience (ability to hear as a psychic). Since the deva realm has unbelievable enjoyments that are many times better than those of the richest country on earth, when they realize that they are about to leave a life of such pleasure to be reborn into a realm of great suffering, their minds suffer immensely. When the deva Paripa Denpa was dying, he saw that he was about to be reborn as six types of animals! He was very worried and asked King Indra what he should do. King Indra recommended him to see Buddha. When deva Denpa consulted Buddha, Buddha manifested as Goddess Namgyalma and gave him a mantra to recite. By reciting this mantra only six times a day, deva Denpa completely changed his karma so that he no longer had to be reborn into the animal realm. The Namgyalma mantra has since that time been known as the great purification mantra. It may be recited or placed on the heads of people who have serious illness. Just by touching this mantra, any being is purified. The kind and compassionate Guru Shakyamuni Buddha then taught the benefits of reciting the Namgyalma mantra to the Four Guardian Kings, also known as the Four Heavenly Kings who guard the four directions of the world. Thus, even when one is faced with the danger of dying, if you wash your body and wear clean clothes and abide by the eight Boddhisatva precepts; by reciting the Namgyalma mantra one thousand times, you can increase your life-span. This powerful mantra will purify your ignorance and free you from disease as it enables one to get rid of accumulated negative karma. If you recite the Namgyalma mantra into the ear of an animal, you ensure that it will no longer be reborn as an animal. If somebody suffers from an unknown disease that cannot be cured by doctors, with practice of the Namgyalma mantra, he or she will become liberated from that disease. Upon death, beings who have recited or touched this mantra (while they were alive) are reborn in a blissful pure land and never have to take rebirth in the lower realms (unless by choice). If you recite this mantra twenty-one times, blow upon mustard seeds and throw them onto the bones of even extremely evil beings who have created many heavy negative karmas, they will be liberated from the lower realms of existence. Throwing seeds blessed by the Namgyalma mantra onto the bones or body of a dead being also purifies that being’s consciousness and allows for rebirth in a higher realm of existence. If you place this mantra in a stupa or a banner inside your house or above the roof, whoever is touched by even the shadow of that stupa or banner will not be reborn into lower realms. Even just being touched by a breeze that has first touched the stupa, banner or statue with this mantra contained within, a being is purified of any karma that would have caused rebirth into a lower realm of existence. There are hence great benefits to applying this mantra in daily practice, or keeping on the body.
